Life Is Finite – Don’t Wait to Live It
Last year, I lost three close friends unexpectedly — including a former boss whose passing even made national headlines.
Losing someone close is hard to accept. With one friend in particular, Amarnath Raja, I still find it difficult to imagine that he won’t walk into my office again. But the truth is, he never will.
Why Remembering Life’s Limits Matters
You might wonder why we should dwell on life’s finite nature instead of focusing only on the good.
The answer is simple: because we often forget to appreciate the good until it’s gone.
In the daily grind, it’s easy to lose sight of what truly matters. Minor annoyances feel overwhelming. We get stuck replaying past regrets or caught up in petty conflicts. Instead of fully living, we simply survive — just coping with life’s challenges.

Seeing Each Day as a Gift
Think about yesterday. Did it feel special? Most of us would say no.
But imagine if you had only a week left to live. Suddenly, every moment, every breath, becomes precious beyond words.
We don’t just forget to live when life is hard — we also postpone joy while chasing success. It’s like someone at a concert, waiting for the song to end before enjoying the music.
The music is playing right now — there is no encore after it finishes.
Don’t Put Off Living
Don’t delay living your life fully, waiting for the “right” moment or for success to arrive.
Go on that trek you’ve been dreaming about. Laugh with your friends until your stomach hurts. Listen to music that moves your soul.
When worry or frustration pulls you away from the moment, remind yourself how fragile and brief life truly is. That awareness can bring you back to the here and now — to the music playing.
A Wish for Your Life
I hope you have a long, joyful life. But more than that, I wish for you a mindful one — a life where small troubles never steal your ability to see its beauty.
Live fully. Live deeply. Because every day is a gift.
